The Economic Impact Analyses (EIA) for tourism has taken place in Samoa over the seventeen months from August 2013 to December 2014. It has been a substantial collaborative effort between the Research and Statistics Division of the Samoa Tourism Authority (STA) and Acorn Tourism Consulting.

Corporate Plan 2014 - 2017

The Corporate Plan 2014-2017 delineates the short term strategies and outcomes by the Samoa Tourism Authority towards the development and promotion of sustainable tourism in Samoa. The Plan covers three financial years commencing July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015 and July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016 and 01 July 2016 to 31 June 2017. The Tourism Sector on a national scale continues to generate the highest income for Samoa and is recognised as one of the Key Outcomes in the Samoa Development Strategy 2012 - 2016.

International Visitor Survey

One of the latest developments is the launching of the newly completed International Survey Report which was launched on March 17th 2014. This initiative was made possible with the kind assistance of the New Zealand Government as well as the Government of Samoa. Credit is also given to Acorn Consults Limited who assisted with the analysis and writing of the report.

Samoa Tourism Sector Plan 2014 - 2019

This Samoa Tourism Sector Plan (STSP) establishes a framework for the development of tourism in Samoa for the five year period from 2014 – 2019. This Plan has been prepared to document clear priorities for tourism sector development and establish the stakeholder roles, mechanisms and resourcing requirements to support a sector based development approach. A phased approach has been adopted for implementation of the STSP, with a number of Immediate Priorities established for the first two years of the Plan.

Samoa Tourism Forum - Annual Review and Pre-Forum Workshop

The Samoa Tourism Sector Plan is in place for a period of five (5) years. As part of tracking progress of the five priority areas identified by the tourism sector, the Annual Review process is undertaken to reflect on what the sector has achieved, what are the lessons learned and identifying potential alternatives to address issues and challenges faced during the period.

Samoa International Visitor Survey launched

The Samoa Tourism Authority launched its International Visitors Survey Report this afternoon, Friday 07 March in front of the STA Main Office on the ground floor of the FMFM II Government Building. The IVS Report is based on findings of a yearlong survey that took place at the Faleolo International Airport and Fagalii Airport. The survey fieldwork was conducted from August 2012 to July 2013. The IVS targeted all departing visitors obtaining from them their views on their experiences while holidaying in Samoa.
