Discover Beautiful Sales Mission to American Samoa
The Samoa Tourism Authority in collaboration with a number of hotels and resorts will be in the American Samoa for the Discover Beautiful Sales Mission which will take place in Pago Pago during 8th-10th November.
The Sales Mission is part and parcel of strategic efforts to actively re-engage with the American Samoa market at all levels including Government, Business and Community to drive brand awareness, interest and confidence in booking travel to Samoa.
American Samoa is a priority source market and the initiative is timely as Samoa Tourism Authority and Tourism Business Operators work collectively to rebuild Samoa’s visitor economy and stimulate demand for travel to the destination following the reopening of borders to international travellers on August 1st and with the Festive Season around the corner.
Pre-Covid, American Samoa was the 3rd biggest market in terms of its contribution to visitor arrivals. In 2019, there were just under 15,000 visitors from the Territory and they injected approximately $31 million into the local economy.
The event will also provide a platform for the Samoa Tourism Authority to engage with the American Samoa Visitors Bureau as a follow-on to the recent ‘Atoa o Samoa’ Talks, to further explore areas where the National Tourism Offices can work together and leverage off each other’s marketing programmes and partnerships.
A total of 17 delegates representing the Samoa Tourism Authority, Amanaki Hotel, Amoa Resort, LAVA Hotel, Le Vasa Resort, Return to Paradise Resort, Taumeasina Island Resort and Tivoli Aparthotel are participating in the sales mission which will open with a Welcome Reception on 8th November, followed by Open Days on 9th-10th November. Representatives based in Pago Pago from Samoa Airways and Talofa Airways will also be a part of the event, as will the Unit Trust of Samoa who are using the platform to also promote its products and services in the Territory.
The sales mission is part of a series of in-market promotional events which the Samoa Tourism Authority has reactivated. Roadshows targeting the New Zealand and Australian markets have been scheduled for 2023 and the business-to-business Samoa Tourism Exchange will also make a return next year.
Samoa Tourism Authority acknowledges the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Office of the Consul General of Samoa in Pago Pago, the American Samoa Visitors Bureau and Department of Commerce.
